When you publish a presentation it creates a new copy of all the slides, separate from the draft version. This allows the user to share the published presentation with their client and/or colleagues, but to keep working on a draft. Once any changes are ready, the live version can be updated by re-publishing.

It is important to note that publishing is separate from access permissions (who can see the published presentation). It is possible publish a presentation – but still keep it private. Please see the interactive graphic below for all the details.
